Project overview
The Outerbridge Crossing is a cantilever bridge connecting Staten Island, New York with Perth Amboy, New Jersey. The aging steel and concrete structure required comprehensive assessment to support ongoing rehabilitation planning.
SKYPYX used drones to inspect steel trusses, deck conditions, bearings, and concrete substructure elements including piers and abutments. Drone access allowed efficient assessment of over-water substructure areas without marine equipment or under-bridge inspection vehicles.

Location & scope
Outerbridge Crossing spans the Arthur Kill waterway between Staten Island, New York and Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Over-water flight operations required coordination with the Port Authority, marine traffic, and Coast Guard. The inspection covered the main span, approach structures, piers, and abutments.
