Journal Square Tower – Drone Inspection
Jersey City, NJ
Project overview
Journal Square Tower is a landmark high-rise building in the heart of Jersey City's Journal Square district. SKYPYX performed a drone facade inspection to document deterioration and building envelope conditions across the full height of the structure.
Drones captured full-height facade imagery without swing staging or scaffolding, allowing the engineering team to assess masonry conditions, window systems, and waterproofing areas quickly and at a fraction of the access cost.
Deliverables
- Full-height facade photography covering all building elevations
- Masonry condition documentation and defect markup
- Window system assessment imagery
- Plaza waterproofing documentation
- Organized inspection package for engineering review
Location & scope
Journal Square Tower is located in the Journal Square district of Jersey City, New Jersey. The urban environment required careful flight planning around adjacent buildings, pedestrian areas, and NJ Transit operations. The inspection covered all exterior facades, the rooftop, and plaza-level waterproofing areas.
